ewan and i (2016)

I was with a friend at the EYE museum in amsterdam the other day. And we saw these amazing coloring books with celebrities like ryan gosling and taylor swift. my friend, who is a huge ewan mcgregor fan, was disappointed to find out there isn't a coloring book out there that is full of drawings about him. 

so that's when i decided to make her one! i've completed two so far. i'm pleased with the results (sort of) but i'm still trying to get the hang of it. it's been a long time since i drew something. (been working on my collages recently) 

the idea is to make about thirty of these ewans. so wish me luck! 

time to leave (2015)

for the last 18 months or so i used to work from my studio which was originally a primary school. unfortunately they sold the building and now i'm preparing myself for leaving and clearing stuff from my studio. i found these drawings and realized i never posted them on my blog. (shame on me!) 

nobody really liked her

inspired by a short story by daniil charms called the red-haired man:

There was a red-haired man who had no eyes or ears. 
Neither did he have any hair, so he was called red-haired theoretically. 
He couldn't speak, since he didn't have a mouth. Neither did he have a nose. 
He didn't even have any arms or legs. He had no stomach and he had no back and he had no spine and he had no innards whatsoever. He had nothing at all! 
Therefore there's no knowing whom we are even talking about. 
In fact it's better that we don't say any more about him.

my beetles found a temporary place to stay at SOLOS. SOLOS is a creative platform for young artists, filmmakers, musicians and writers who want to show the world how creative and amazing they are.

pictures aren't that great. but hey! just a very good reason to go see it for yourself ;)

making some new beetles. notice that i'm working on my floor. when you're living in a room that is 2m by 6m (which is like 6ft by 19ft) and stuffed with everything except a table, your floor is the biggest space to work on ;)

the truth about kate (2014)

i was asked to participate with 'de zendelingen' (belgium) and watch a play called 'the truth about kate'. after the play i made these drawings about my views and feelings on what i just saw. 

the people you hear on the background are also members of the audience who watched the show with me. they were interviewed by an expert while sitting in a confession booth. so they could share their feelings and confession about the play. please note that the voices on the background are all speaking dutch. there are no subtitles. i'm sorry.
